D-Day and Normandy are closely intertwined, and the history here still holds deep meaning for those who live in the region. These sites mark the beginning of the liberation of Europe during World War Two, and today they stand as both a celebration of that turning point and a place of remembrance for those who lost their lives in the summer of 1944.

To help, we have created a thoughtful three-day itinerary designed with families in mind, allowing you to experience the most meaningful sites without feeling rushed. This can be adapted to suit your interests, pace, and the needs of your group.

Set along the coast, Golf de la Côte des Isles is a beautiful 18 hole seaside course located near Barneville Carteret and Portbail, with sweeping views across the dunes towards Cap Carteret and the Channel Islands.
The course is thoughtfully divided into two distinct sections. Les Dunes offers a traditional links style experience, shaped by coastal winds with views towards Cap Carteret and Jersey. Les Mielles provides a more sheltered setting, winding through hedged fairways and open water landscapes, with views towards the villages of Saint Jean and Saint Georges de la Rivière.

Often regarded as one of the most beautiful 9 hole courses in Normandy, Golf de Cherbourg offers a refined yet challenging experience. The course is largely flat, but features narrow fairways bordered by woodland and small, well defended greens that demand accuracy throughout.
The presence of trees across the course, along with bunkers on key holes, adds further challenge for any misplaced shots. Surrounded by nature, with wild rhododendrons, seasonal flowers and a variety of trees, it offers a peaceful setting where, if you are early enough, you may even spot deer on the fairways.

Set across 60 hectares of preserved landscape, Golf de la Presqu’île du Cotentin is a magnificent 18 hole course located just moments from the D Day beaches. Facing Tatihou Island and the Vauban towers, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the setting is both historic and visually striking.
The course is thoughtfully varied, offering two distinct experiences. Nine holes run along the sea with views across Hougue Bay, while the remaining nine lead through the Normandy countryside, with rich vegetation, hedgerows and reed beds, creating a balanced and rewarding round.
